DevOps Engineer

Core Group Company
₱650.00 per hour

About the Role

Core Group Company is looking for a skilled and self-directed DevOps Engineer to own our cloud infrastructure, build and deployment operations, and internal platform support. This is a hands-on role at the center of CGC's technical operations -- you'll be the primary person responsible for keeping our Azure environment healthy, our CI/CD pipelines running, and our dev team unblocked.

You'll work closely with the development team, project managers, and leadership to support client-facing deliverables, maintain internal tooling, and drive continuous improvement in how CGC operates its infrastructure.

What You'll Own

Build & Deployment

Weekly installation and validation builds across environments (Dev, QA), daily audit of pipeline build logs, and rollback strategy execution for failed deployments.

Azure Infrastructure & Monitoring

Day-to-day monitoring of Azure resources (VMs, ARG tables, Defender alerts), VM resizing and patching, VPN configuration and management, compliance gap auditing, and coordination with Arrowsphere for subscription management.

Automation & Scripting

Maintaining and validating automation scripts -- including logging, error handling, and coverage -- and documenting reusable SOPs to ensure reproducibility across the team.

Maintenance & Platform Support

End-to-end Cypress test maintenance, package upgrade support for the dev team, Microsoft deprecation tracking, and WordPress/DigitalOcean site access management.

Identity & Security

Azure subscription access and permissions auditing, MFA implementation and upkeep, and implementation of alternative email/auth solutions including SendPulse management.

Reporting & Documentation

Maintaining the Tech Summary PowerBI/Azure dashboard, reconciling Azure records, delivering audit-ready client communication for builds, and producing architecture documentation and change logs.

Licensing & Compliance

Tracking software license renewals across tools and platforms, SSL certificate monitoring, and validating subscription reports.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 3+ years of hands-on DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience
  • Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience is required -- VMs, resource management, subscriptions, VPN, Defender, and Azure DevOps pipelines; candidates with equivalent AWS or GCP depth who can demonstrate a clear path to Azure proficiency will be considered
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline management -- build configuration, log auditing, and rollback procedures
  • Proficiency in automation scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) with a focus on reliability and documentation
  • Familiarity with identity and access management -- OAuth, MFA, RBAC, and access auditing
  • Experience supporting dev teams with environment setup, package upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Strong documentation habits -- SOPs, runbooks, change logs

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Cypress or other automated testing frameworks
  • Hands-on with DigitalOcean or WordPress hosting management
  • Exposure to PowerBI reporting or Azure dashboards
  • Background in software and cloud subscription licensing management

Technical Skills

Cloud & Infrastructure

  • Microsoft Azure (required) -- VMs, Resource Groups, Subscriptions, Defender, VPN Gateway; equivalent AWS or GCP experience considered alongside demonstrated Azure familiarity
  • Cloud resource management: VMs, networking, VPNs, storage, and access control
  • Cloud cost monitoring, subscription management, and billing optimization
  • CI/CD pipeline tooling -- Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent
  • Experience with hosting platforms such as DigitalOcean or similar

Scripting & Automation

  • PowerShell -- scripting, automation, system administration
  • Python or Bash -- scripting for DevOps workflows
  • CI/CD pipeline configuration and log auditing
  • Automation script logging, error handling, and SOP documentation

Security & Identity

  • Identity and access management -- OAuth, MFA, RBAC across cloud or enterprise environments
  • Access auditing -- reviewing roles, permissions, and compliance across subscriptions or accounts
  • Email infrastructure and authentication -- DNS, SMTP, OAuth-based mail configuration

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Cloud monitoring tools -- Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, or equivalent; alert configuration and triage
  • VM patch compliance tracking and build log auditing
  • Dashboard and reporting tools -- PowerBI, Grafana, or similar

Testing & Maintenance

  • Cypress -- end-to-end test maintenance
  • WordPress and DigitalOcean site access management
  • Package upgrade support and dependency management
  • SSL monitoring and license renewal tracking

What Success Looks Like in Year One

  • Weekly builds run smoothly with daily log audits and zero unresolved anomalies
  • Azure environment is fully documented, patched, and compliant
  • Automation scripts are audit-ready with standardized logging and error handling
  • Internal platforms (WordPress, VPN) are stable with clear SOPs for every recurring task
  • Dev team can rely on you as a responsive, unblocking infrastructure partner
